The famous Great Australian Outback is an experience itself and only a visit there would actually suffice to enjoying the place. The outback is also popularly called “Back of Beyond” which means that its boundaries are not really fixed. The visit to this wonderful place is truly amazing to say the least.
The outback has varied geographical features from lovely rock formations, verdant mountains, unending deserts and varied Australian fauna. The visit to the Great Australian outback is sure going to be a memorable experience that you are going to cherish for a long time to come.
The outback is known for its beauty but also known are the dangers of the region. A few things that you must carry on your trip to the outback include:
- Camera, do not forget to carry spare batteries (you can really take some great pictures here)
- Sunscreen (a must and that too of a minimum of SPF30)
- Insect repellent, a Swiss knife and a set of great boots
- Binoculars, sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat for your going to be in the open for long
- A first aid kit and a flashlight are a must
- A GPS and compass are going to be really handy
- Lots of food, water, your bedding and a tent
Above all do get along an attitude that’s really important to enjoy the place. For your 4WD also its best along with you engine oil, spare tyres and lots of water. It would be advisable to carry your maps with you.

It’s best to be with the group. A romantic holiday is a good idea but the Australian outback is just not the place for it with danger all over. For the Australian outback where it’s hot during the day and very cold in the night, it is best to stick to long fully covered cotton clothes during the day and some woollens for the night. For footwear it is best to wear long boots. Do not forget a big hat, sunglasses and a lot of sunscreen.
