Import for Home Appliance

People started depending on home appliances heavily for performing their daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, washing, and drying. Hectic daily routine, flourishing economic conditions and ever changing living styles are some of the reasons for this transition.

Today’s market is flooded with home appliances starting from basic models to fully computer controlled hi-tech automatic home appliances. Advancement in science and technology has paved the way for introducing newer models on daily basis with enhanced features. Manufacturers spend millions of dollars every year to improve their products constantly in order to make life comfortable and enjoyable for people.

There are number of world class home appliance manufacturers who compete with each other in proving more advanced home appliances. Due to this heavy competition they offer very attractive prices and various discounts to the customers in order to beat their competitors. This makes the consumer a king who is provided wider choice to choose his desired home appliance.

This hectic competition among the home appliance manufactures adversely affects their bottom line.  Many of them struggle for their very survival unless they do not cut their cost extensively. This situation leads the home appliance manufacturers to explore various cost-cutting methods. Importing home appliance from other countries is considered to be the most effective way to arrest cost.

There are many advantages in importing home appliances than manufacturing them at home. In advanced countries the cost of labor is very high due to their high standard of living. Companies pay more amounts for labor and labor related expenditure. But in developing countries the picture is entirely different. Due to lack of opportunities and low standard of living, people in these countries are ready to work for lesser wages than their counter parts in the advanced countries.

Globalization has brought the concept of outsourcing. The word ‘outsourcing’ becomes the mantra for both buyer as well as seller. Outsourcing helps the business in accessing economical resources from many parts of the world.

Home appliance manufacturers take advantage of this situation, and outsource many of their production activities to the countries where the cost of production works out to be less.

Developing countries like China, India, Taiwan, and Korea are seen as heaven for importing products. Highly educated people with good skills enable these countries to produce higher quality goods and services with cheaper cost. Many western companies locate their manufacturing facilities in these countries due to its skilled and cost effective labor force and infrastructure developments.

One can import home appliances such as coffee makers, toasters, mixer grinders, microwave ovens, LCD home TVs, air conditioners, blenders, juicers, electric kettles from countries such as China, Taiwan and Japan. These imported home appliances would be some times cheaper than home manufactured items.

Many department stores have a special section for imported home appliances. They sell home and kitchen aid appliances manufactured from many countries worldwide. There are duty free shops in city centers and airports where one can buy imported home appliances for cheaper rates.
