Insomnia During Pregnancy
Insomnia & Pregnancy: Insomnia is not at all good for our health. Especially the disorder of Insomnia during Pregnancy of a lady is indeed alarming as due to the disorder the pregnant lady experiences longer sleepless nights and fully tiresome days. Almost 78 percent of women had reported the disturbed sleep or almost sleepless nights due to the Insomnia during Pregnancy stages, as revealed by the National Sleep Foundation – NSF, based on the open polling conducted by them recently. Not only that, the problems related to their sleeps became rather more as their pregnancy advanced gradually. However, as per some Gynecologists, the problem of Insomnia during Pregnancy decrease as the pregnancy advances or progresses in due course of time and some other issues may cause Insomnia to reoccur.
Insomnia during Pregnancy: During the first trimester, the problem related to sleep disorder or insomnia is found to be relatively common and is supposed to be caused by the hormonal changes due to the pregnancy. According to the gynecologists there may be basically a couple of reasons behind this. During the early stage of her pregnancy, a woman tend to feel very fatigued due to the progesterone phenomenon, which is the natural sedative and a woman may feel so tired that she has such sensation of not being able to keep her eyes open. She may be found to be napping even during the day or even fell asleep on the sofa after finishing her work. This practice puts her out of her routine normal sleeps schedules or patterns during the night. Thus the lady may complaint of sleepless nights or the Insomnia during Pregnancy, and due to which gets exhausted during the day. The simplest way out of this condition, as suggested by the gynecologists, is to avoid day time naps, instead she should try and take a walk or engage herself in some other activities but not to nap.
The pregnant lady should try to go to bed at the same time every night, even if it’s earlier than your normal sleep pattern for getting some extra sleep. Besides the usual hormonal changes during the pregnancy, frequently a few more anxieties during the first trimester is noticed. The lady in such conditions is often worried about her health as well as her baby’s health and somehow may also be scared of facing the miscarriage. Some more typical reasons for her anxieties are such as financial crunch especially if her pregnancy was unplanned. To avoid such emotion-related insomnia situation, the lady should keep herself busy in the company of some family members or friends or associates. The frequent urination may also be the reason for sleepless nights, basically as during this time of the pregnancy, the uterus is still rather small and has not yet pushed up out of the pelvis. This is the reason why it pushes against the bladder causing frequent urination. However, this condition resolves itself during the second trimester as the uterus grows and pops up out of the pelvis.
