Correlation Between Hdl Levels and Exercise Duration

It has been observed that aerobic exercises are very much effective enough in increasing the HDL levels. Though the researchers and scientists have been unable to disclose the forms of exercises and the amount of HDL levels that increases by performing such exercises.

Japanese researchers performed meta-analysis to assess the consequences of exercising on HDL levels. This analysis incorporated data from thirty five randomly selected adults for assessing the effect of exercise on HDL levels in them. In this study, it was founded that on an average, patients exercised for forty minutes, thrice to four times per week, and their effect on HDL was calculated after eight to twenty seven weeks.

As HDL level and cardiac risk have cause and effect relationship. With 1 mg/dl increment in HDL, the chances of cardiac risk get decreases by two to three points in percentages. In the above study, an average increase of about 2.5 mg/dl in HDL level was noticed in participants. Though this raise in HDL cholesterol level was only meek, but it was statistically noteworthy, as 2.5 mg/dl increase in HDL leads to a significant reduction in cardiac risk.

The most important aspect of study is rise in HDL levels correlation with the duration of exercising session, not with the regularity or amount of exercises done. Therefore, this study proves that all those individuals who needs to raise their HDL levels should inculcate exercising in their daily routine or at least exercise three to four times every week, with exercise duration to be stretched for minimum of 20 minutes (although 40 will prove to be better).

As both HDL level and exercises period are interlinked, so it is advisable to increase the period of exercise sessions to give boost to the HDL levels.
