Holiday Depression
Generally depression is a mental health disorder, which can affect the way you eat and sleep, the way you feel about yourself, and the way you think about things. There are different types of depressions, out of which the most commonly found depression among people is Holiday depression. There are numerous factors, which may cause the people unhappy, strained, restless, fatigued, dreaded bad feelings in their holidays.
Holiday depression is also known as the holiday blues, which affects more than one million people every year. Holiday blues affect either men or women, young or old. The main reasons for holiday blues include increased stress and fatigue, loneliness, unrealistic expectations, too much commercialization, and the inability to be with one's family. A few people are depressed because they have less financial resources compare to others. Some other people are depressed because of relationships that have been distanced by misunderstandings. To complete all challenges within a less time is another cause of depression.
Alcohol consumption is also one cause for depression. When people who are already depressed drink too much alcohol, which in essence is a depressant drug, their problems can be increased to a great extent. Normally, depression greatly affects those people who feel they have a lack of control over their lives.
There is no one universal solution for this depression, since what is depressing or stressful for one person may not be same for someone else, and what works for one depressed person may not work for other person. These depressions are very much clear, people can express how bad they are feeling, or they may put their focus on avoiding this depression.
Sit down with your family and decide what each member wants to do for the holiday season and can handle comfortably.
