How Water Helps With Natural Weight Loss
By admin | May 5, 2008
Natural weight loss is a big subject today for many people who do not understand the principle of eating only the amount they need for the amount physical activity they perform; most people choose to ignore this advice. If it were that simple, which it should be, most slimming companies would be out of business; with the number of overweight American citizens increasing, this advice obviously doesn’t work. There are many reasons why you would want to lose weight once you have put it on, but what reason is strong enough to actually encourage you to do it, good health or looks?
What most people do not realize is keeping at the right weight is much, much easier than losing it. Subconsciously we all know that if we do not maintain a healthy food program for ourselves, we will start to add extra pounds.
It has been shown that even when overweight people enjoy eating low calorie foods, the majority become bored and end up putting the weight back on because they slip back into previous ways. Natural weight loss is possible though and it can be done before you get stared at in the street or cause others problems because of your weight.
There is a large number of health conditions associated with weight gain and the greater the increase in body weight the more that problems occur. Losing weight by natural means isn’t a big secret and deep down most of us understand the principles behind it.
Natural weight loss requires a balanced approach which means a diet that contains quantities of complex carbohydrates, fiber, reduced fat and not too much protein. You have probably had a meal like this in a restaurant; a baked or jacket potato with fresh vegetables and some meat, as lean as possible but it wouldn’t have gravy or butter on the potato.
Health experts say that dietary fat promotes weight gain because it is a very dense source of calories and you store those calories as body fat easier than calories from other sources. Despite the number of either low fat or zero fat foods on the market, it’s a surprise that the American people continue to put on weight, but there is a very good reason for this.
The misconception is if you are eating something fat-free then you won’t be adding extra fat to your body but all food contains calories, just not always in the form of fat. This is a trap that many people fall into and forget it’s about eating from the correct food groups, and if you have to snack make it a small healthy one.
Health experts say it would be better to try eating every three to four hours, which may mean a nutritious low-fat snack between lunch and dinner. Maintaining a healthy weight is just that; a natural weight loss program that will continue and allow you to live a long healthy life.
