How To Cure Your Back Pain

For many people who suffer with back pain, they live in constant agony; research into this problem is ongoing but so far only short term back relief remedies are available. While there are a host of prescription medications that help with pain relief, many are doing nothing more than masking the symptoms instead of tackling the underlying cause of the pain. Any type of medication should only be used with the supervision of a doctor but especially when it is taken on a regular basis.
Back pain is often caused by muscle strain and repeated strenuous exercises; spinal injury is one of the most common conditions around the world and even sitting incorrectly can create a long term problem. Of course the most common way to injure your spine is by lifting heavy weights or lifting them incorrectly. However, a number of back pain relief treatments can be used without the need for drugs.
Stretching can be effective at reducing back as it relaxes the muscles which are often tense. Another type of treatment called reflexology uses a massage technique applied to the feet; some are finding relief using this treatment for back pain and other conditions. Relaxing muscles and increasing the effectiveness of the circulatory system are two other reasons to use reflexology.
The Chinese medical art of acupuncture can also be used to help bring back pain relief, something which has only been recognized a short while in the West. The Chinese believe all humans have an energy force that flows through us called qi which is affected by our health. Acupuncture needles help to release trapped or sick energy (chi) when inserted at particular points in the body. There are large numbers of people that use acupuncture on a regular basis and claim it works well for them providing pain relief; especially those who have what is termed a chronic condition.
Relief can also come from another Chinese treatment like tai chi which is a form of yoga but not so strenuous. Tai Chi focuses on breathing techniques and is a great way to relax your back. Whilst it involves some stretching and breathing exercises it is not too strenuous which means that anyone, young or old can take part in Tai Chi. A good preventative form of back pain relief is to actually exercise more regularly; by exercising regularly there is less chance of a back pain attack.
