ILL EFFECTS OF ANABOLIC STEROIDS

Excessive dosage of anabolic steroids may cause many problems to the people. Each section including men, women and teenagers are affected by them.
Among men: - Even though these anabolic steroids are produced from the male sex hormone i.e., testosterone, but men who take them regularly can experience a “feminization” side effects and also
decrease in male sexual function. This happens because the female hormone, estrogen, is a metabolic product of testosterone. Some serious effects that can be caused in men are: -
1.) Reduced sperm count
2.) Impotence
3.) Development of breasts
4.) Shrinking of the testicles
5.) Difficulty or pain while urinating
Among women: - excessive dosage of such steroids in women can lead in develop of manly characteristics. Some of them are: -
1.) Facial hair growth
2.) Deepened voice
3.) Breast reduction
4.) Menstrual cycle changes
5.) Clitoral enlargement
Even both sexes male and female can experience the following anabolic steroid side effects: -
1.) Acne
2.) Water retention
3.) Rapid weight gain
4.) Clotting disorders
5.) Liver enzyme irregularities
6.) Elevated cholesterol levels
7.) Tendon damage from muscles
8.) Mood swings
Among Teenagers: - Anabolic steroid results in serious health side effects in teens. Anabolic steroids can prevent the teens bones from growing. Once these growth plates are blocked, they cannot regenerate. So youngsters who are taking these steroids may result in shorter height than their usual height. Mood swing is another harm that can occur in teens which results in behavioral changes.
