Facilitated stretching has three main steps. The initial step is to lengthen the selected muscle. The next step is contracting the lengthened muscle in an isometric manner. The final step is to repeat the same lengthened selected muscle. A common wrong belief is that the more the feeling of muscle pain is felt the more is the muscle benefit. One must realize that pain felt during stretching is always alarming as it may tear the ligament and cause severe injury.

Fitness Tip

Don't take the all or nothing approach. It's better to do a little training than none at all. So, even if you can only fit one strength training routine in a week, you'll still benefit from it.
