Vegan Cooking

The word ‘Vegan’ means a vegetarian diet devoid of animals or animal product. The vegan diet is often used for preventing various diseases. The vegan diet is beneficial to both the human beings and the earth. The vegan cooking is largely in practice. Cooking causes a tremendous annihilation of the earth due to the resources used in the production and distribution.

In order to cook food we need pots, pans, ovens, microwaves, toasters, baking equipment, spice racks; dish & pot detergents, scrubbers, dish-washing machines; manufacturing of all these things including mining and production of metals and plastics; processed food manufacturing; processed food packaging including disposable containers; processed food trucking and shipping; processed food based advertising and promotion; processed food based medical, dental and hospital “services”; vitamins, herbal remedies and supplements; cooking gas exploration, development, and delivery; restaurants; soft drink manufacture, beer brewing, wine making and much more. The resources used for manufacturing, house, maintenance, transportation, distribution, promote and sell all of these enterprises and their products are immense. The environmental cost of eating cooked foods is enormous! The above list is all unnecessary in a locally grown, organic, raw vegan diet.

‘Row Vegan diet’ means a diet of fresh and uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Row vegan diet includes unprocessed vegan foods that have not been heated for more than 46 degree Celsius.

The Vegans are pure vegetarian; they do not eat meat or egg. They don’t even consume dairy products or anything else that consist animal-derived ingredients. Most of the vegans even refrain from eating the food that is made using animal product which may not contain animal products in final process, such as some wines.

There is a big question mark on the question “what do vegans eat?” A vegan diet includes grains, beans, legumes, vegetables and fruits.

On the first level Veganism is ethical and sympathetic, but on making a deep study on typical vegan diet it reveals the huge amount of harm done in food processing, refrigeration, sales, shipping and more.

The vegan diet that is put into practice is grain and soy based. These foods are necessary to our present system of “authoritarian agriculture” where all forms of life are conquered to our desire for rising volumes of food. The fields devoid of almost all life is the “Amber waves of grains,” doused with millions of tons of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and chemical fertilizers. These were once beautiful fields swarming with life including flower and fruit plants and other edible vegetation.

In vegan cooking we can use arrowroot, cornstarch, flour, oats, or breadcrumbs instead of egg. Instead of silken tofu agar, kuzu or assowroot can be used. Instead of butter olive oil or other vegetable oits can be used. For milk powder solait or various products from Ener-G Foods can be used.

Raw veganism at present is continuously increasing. Combining their knowledge and efforts to create theatrical global change vegans and raw vegans will reach out to one another - jointly stepping outside the destructive eddy of authoritarian agriculture and lifeless cooked food, and joining in a peaceful, quiet revolution which will allow human beings to once again exist happily as practical members of Earth’s living society.
