Japanese are known for their systematical way of living, cooking and style of working. The conventional Japanese pattern of eating consists of a nutrient regime including mainly vegetables, fish while pork, chicken, fruit, beef, and many other forms of meat .
The Japanese eating habits entirely relied on the intake of whale. In fact, it is assumed that before Common Era itself whale was a part of their diet. Archaeological department states that white whale was a staple food from ancient times and as a result, there is nothing to marvel that Japanese continue eating whale meat in spite of international inspection.
During the period of Buddhism eating meat of any animal with four legs was strictly prohibited by the court. Mammals were shunned but whale was excused since it was recognized as a species of fish living in water. Japanese cooking included typical boiling, grilling, and steaming. Oil is used to a negligible level or very little oil was used to preserve the ingredients flavor and some seasonings were added.
Japanese cuisine presents innumerable varieties of dishes. The most common and popular Japanese dishes are noodles, soya bean dishes, rice dishes, seafood dishes, yoshoku dishes, and many more delicious dishes. Japanese cuisine mainly includes rice as one of the most important food stuff. Rice is taken as a side dish during both the times, lunch and dinner. Plain rice with soya sauce and raw eggs is a conventional and the most preferred Japanese breakfast. Cooked rice equipped with sushi vinegar is another favorite sushi dish.
Japanese cuisine includes a variety of sea foods from seas, lakes, oceans, and rivers. These sea foods are consumed in various ways like raw, boiled, grilled, dried, steamed or deep fried. Yakizakana is one of the grilled fish dish liked by many Japanese. Similarly, Japanese enjoy sashimi as a raw sea food. Raw fishes are preferred by many.
Noodle dishes are not only one of the prominent Japanese cooking but are also the best choices of many people in other countries. Native noodles called soba noodles are made of wheat flour and buckwheat. These noodles are served hot or cold with toppings. Other varieties of noodles are udon, ramen, and yakisoba noodles are served with great toppings and are loved by many Japanese. Noodles are very popular among children and few brands of them like Hakka noodles are well recognized in almost all the countries.
Meat dishes are commonly taken in large quantities and frequently from the 19th century. Tonkatsu, Nikujaga, yakitori are popular dishes made of pork and meat. Some of the important Japanese cooking made of soya beans are Tofu, Miso, and Natto. Yoshuku is another important Japanese cooking referring to western food. Innumerable western dishes in combination with Japanese dishes have gained extraordinary prominence as yoshoku dishes. Japanese cooking and their style of eating with chop sticks present an elegant style of eating. They eat rice varieties also with the help of chopsticks. Japanese cooking are well known to be of high nutritional value.
