Toddler

The child in between the age of 1 to 3 year old is known as a toddler though some consider toddler age to be between 2 to 5 years. During this time, the child can learn and develop their motor skills and also learn about social values. All the time they show their mobility by crawling running and walking around and discovering new things all the time, they show boost of energy. It might just seem tough to keep up with it. The timeline of toddler development helps by showing what an average toddler is able to at what age. Though it is not possible to know the exact work a toddler can do as it differs from kid to kid. Like some toddlers learn walking much before the other does and other toddler learns talking before the other one.

One should always take care of the toddlers and keep their home absolutely safe for them as they keep on discovering new things from corners of house thus they might face new dangers. A child between the age 1 to 4 do not have the sensibility of handling things thus they must be kept away from risky things such as acids, rat killers etc. When a child is born one might do convenient changes but the toddlers will always shock you by reaching to such places which you never would have expected and thus safety measures should be taken as toddlers are not bound to any limitations. If your child is shy or sluggish to warm up, instead of forcing her to say hello and goodbye, encourage her to wave to people. After she waves, compliment her on how polite she was and how perhaps next time she could say bye-bye. She is learning polite behavior and is interact with more people to the extent of her comfort level.

A child who tends to be shy or slow to warm up might take longer to get used to a new playgroup. You can help by letting your child sit with you and observe until she is ready to join in. Supporting your child’s temperament doesn’t mean that she can do whatever she wants. Not joining the playgroup isn’t an option, and neither is ignoring family and friends. But allowing her to join in at a slower rate or to play in a different way is simply helping her to develop skills she will need. The most important factor in making sure your child has every chance to grow a strong, resourceful brain is a secure, loving relationship with you and others around him. This means:  Interacting with your child as much as you can by talking, singing, playing, or reading. Lots of holding and cuddling, it causes the child’s brain to release hormones that he needs to grow. Responding to your child’s signals and cues including sounds, facial expressions, movements, and the way he makes or avoids eye contact. This helps him learn not only how to communicate but also that his needs and feelings are very important.
