Toddler Diarrhea
Toddler diarrhea can be commonly found as pediatric state. In child’s it is known as chronic infancy chronic diarrhea where as in older children it is treated as petulant bowel syndrome. Toddler's diarrhea which is most common disorder of persistent diarrhea. The main cause of this condition is diet, which is having higher fluids and sugar and less fat contents.
Children, those effected with diarrhea, they are having numerous loose bowel activities throughout the day so they get gradually more watery in a day. Stools may have undigested mucus or foods and sometimes it will be stinking. Growth and weight of the affected child is normal without any wounded stools.
If any child is not growing well and loosing weight gradually, and having blood in your child stools or too much pain, then check with child's doctor (pediatrician).
General clinical characteristics of Toddler Diarrhea include:
- Age between six months to two and half years. Most of them are better at the age of four years
- Two to six watery stools each day. There will be more periods at each day without any stools. Several stools contain undigestible material and will be dropped down leg from the diaper
- Actual height, weight, and head perimeter growth curves without stopping
- Difficult to find the symptoms of infection and stools are Harmful Hematest
- Normally, child appears very well, even though; there is a cause of underfeeding and pain in abdomen
- Child’s growth may increase if any changes in diet and having enough calories to control Diarrhea
It is not understood well what the main causes of toddler’s diarrhea are. Children who effected with diarrhea will have intestines and couldn’t move faster than as usual. But it is a best way to check with pediatrician whether it is more serious or not. Take three days report of your toddler eating and drinking patterns that tells you about your child condition. In several cases, taking fruit juice with quantity of six ounces per day, can reduce the diarrhea -- certain amount of sugar contain in the fruit juice will be hard to digest.
Many antibiotics can create infections, which are infection in eardrums and urinary area. These can cause diarrhea in children. The diarrhea generally will rise after antibiotics are completed. Eating dairy products and yogurt consisting good bacteria (Acidophilus and Lactobacillus) may develop diarrhea. Sometimes lower or upper endoscopy should be performed. This test will be preformed as child is sleeping under sedated or anesthesia. Then after, doctor passes fiber optic tube into stomach and little intestine through the mouth and one more fibre optic tube is inserted into the rectum and it is very difficult to pass the tube into large intestine. Small samples of Biopsies are taken from the large and small intestine for treatment and required diagnosis. Treatment will be depending on the main cause of malabsorption or diarrhea along required medications and avoiding certain foods. It is very important to consult with child's physician before taking any anti-diarrhea treatment.
